1 get rid of
a) if you get rid of something that you do not want, you throw it away, sell it etc so that you do not have it any longer 丢掉; 卖掉; 处理掉〔不想要的东西〕:

b) to make something that is unpleasant go away, stop happening, or stop existing 摆脱〔不愉快的事物〕:
