a) used to ask someone to wait a short period of time 稍等一下〔用于请某人等候片刻〕:

b) used when you do not agree with someone 等一下,且慢〔用于表示不同意某人的看法〕:

6 last minute at the last possible time, just before it is too late 最后一刻:

7 any minute very soon 马上; 随时:
She should get here any minute now. 她应该随时会来到这儿。
