USAGE NOTE 用法说明: thin, slim, slender, skinny, underweight, and 和 emaciated
Thin is a general word that describes people who do not have much fat on their bodies. thin 是用来形容人瘦的普通用词:
a tall, thin man 又高又瘦的男人
If someone is thin in a way that is attractive, use slim or slender. 如果指人苗条，用 slim 或 slender:
You're looking slim! Have you lost weight? 你看上去苗条了！ 你体重减轻了吗？
an elegant slender figure 优美苗条的体形
Skinny is an informal word that means that someone is too thin. skinny 是一个非正式的词，表示某人过瘦:
I was a small skinny kid. 我是一个又小又瘦的孩子。
Underweight means that someone does not weigh enough, and is often used by doctors or people who are worried about their weight. underweight 表示某人体重偏轻，经常被医生或担心自己体重的人使用:
Doctors found that the children were seriously underweight. 医生发现这些孩子体重严重偏轻。
Emaciated means that someone is extremely thin in a way that is dangerous to their health. emaciated 表示某人极瘦，并威胁到健康:
