USAGE NOTE 用法说明: rare and 和 scarce
Use rare to talk about something that is valuable and that there is not much of. rare 用于指有价值而且稀有的东西:
Rare coins are usually worth a lot of money. 罕见的钱币通常值许多钱。
Use scarce to talk about something that is difficult to get at a particular time. scarce 用于指在某一特定时间很难获得的东西:
During the war, food and clothing were scarce. 在战争期间，食物和衣服很缺乏。
