1 a long distance 远:
I don't want to drive very far. 我不想开车去很远的地方。

how far (=what is the distance) 多远: How far is it to the station? 到车站有多远？
far away I don't see my brother very often — he lives too far away. 我不常见到弟弟 — 他住得太远了。
2 very much …得多，很:
far better/far more intelligent etc Our new car is far better than the old one. 我们的新车比旧的好得多。
far too much/fat/early etc You can't carry that box — it's far too heavy. 那只箱子你搬不动的 — 它太重了。

USAGE NOTE 用法说明: far
You can use far to talk about distances in questions and negatives. far 可以用在疑问句和否定句中表示距离:
How far is the hotel? 酒店（离这儿）有多远？
It's not very far. （离这儿）不太远。
You can also use far after too, as and so. far 还可以用在 too、as 和 so 之后:
We won't get there in a day — it's too far. 我们在一天之内到不了那儿 — 太远了。
I carried it as far as I could. 我背着它尽可能走得远一点。
He swam out so far that the others started to get worried. 他游得那么远，使其他人开始担心起来。
Don't use far with ordinary statements, however — ie, don't say "It is far to the hotel". Instead use a long way or a long distance. 然而，在一般陈述句中不能用 far, 如，不能说 "It is far to the hotel", 而要用 a long way 或 a long distance:
