USAGE NOTE 用法说明: big and 和 large
Use big and large with countable nouns to describe size. They both mean the same thing, although large is slightly more formal. big 和 large 与可数名词连用,用于描述大小及尺寸。它们意思相同,但 large 更正式一点:
She was wearing a really big hat. 她戴着一顶很大的帽子。
a large company 大公司
Use large not big to describe amounts. 用 large 而不用 big 来描述数量:
a large amount of mail 大量邮件
Use big not large to describe how important something is. 用 big 而不用 large 来描述事物的重要性:
a big problem 重大问题
the biggest issue facing society today 当今社会面临的最重大问题
