Had better or 'd better are used to firmly advise someone about what they should do, especially in order for them to avoid something bad happening. had better 或 'd better 用于规劝某人应该做某事,尤其为了避免坏事发生:
You'd better go now or you'll be late. 你最好现在就走,不然你会迟到的。
She'd better phone to say she won't be coming. 她最好打电话说一声她不来了。
You'd better is a very direct way of giving advice, and can also be used to tell someone what to do. you'd better 是一种直截了当的提意见方法,也能用作吩咐某人做某事:
You'd better get out of here now! 你最好马上出去!
You'd better not do that again. 你最好不要再做那种事了。
For this reason, do not use you'd better when you want to make a polite suggestion. Instead, use phrases such as why don't you..., why not..., or it might be a good idea to... 所以,当想有礼貌地提建议时,不要用 you'd better , 而应该用 why don't you..., why not..., 或 it might be a good idea to... 代替。
