USAGE NOTE 用法说明: guilty, ashamed, and 和 embarrassed
Use guilty to say that someone is unhappy because they have done something that has harmed someone else. 因为伤害别人而感到内疚用 guilty 一词:
He felt guilty about being away from home so often. 他因为经常不在家而感到内疚。
Use ashamed about someone who feels very sorry about something bad they have done. 因为做了不对的事而感到羞愧用 ashamed 一词:
She was ashamed of having told her mother a lie. 她因为向母亲撒了谎而感到羞愧。
Use embarrassed to say that someone is upset because they have done something that makes them seem silly to other people. 在人前做了愚蠢的事而感到难堪用 embarrassed 一词:
He was embarrassed about the way he behaved at the party. 他为自己在聚会上的表现感到难堪。
