USAGE NOTE 用法说明: cloth, fabric, and 和 material
Use cloth to talk about the cotton, wool etc that is used for making clothes, sheets, curtains etc. cloth 指用于缝制衣服、床单、窗帘等物品的棉、羊毛等织物:
red silk cloth 红色的丝织物
a bag made of thick cotton cloth 用厚棉布制成的包
Fabric can be countable or uncountable and is used to talk about cloth generally, or different types of cloth. fabric 可以是可数或不可数，用于指织物的总称或各种不同类型的织物:
fine Italian fabrics 上等意大利织品
What kind of fabric are your sofa covers made of? 你的沙发罩子是用哪种织物做成的？
When material is an uncountable noun, it can be used for any type of cloth or fabric. material 是一个不可数名词，可用于指任何类型的织物:
There isn't enough material to make curtains. 没有足够的材料做窗帘。
Do not use cloth or cloths to mean 'the things that people wear'. The correct word is clothes. 不要用 cloth 或 cloths 指“衣服”，正确的词是 clothes:
a clothes shop 服装店
She spends a lot of money on clothes. 她花很多钱买衣服。
